Almost a month after he was last seen, a 57-year-old Irishman was found dead in a hotel here early Monday, police said.
James Stephen's semi-decomposed body was recovered from his room - 102 - in Krishna Cottage hotel situated in central Delhi's Paharganj area around 3 a.m. after a foul odour from it.
"He had checked into the hotel June 3 and last time he was seen was June 6," Deputy Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar told IANS.
"After a foul odour emanated from the room, it was broken open and Stephen was found dead on his bed," said the officer.
Stephen's body has been sent for post-mortem examination to confirm what caused his death.
Kumar said that prima facie, it seems there is no any foul play behind his death. "But it is yet to be confirmed if he had consumed any poisonous substance or it was a natural death," he added.
