Beirut, May 6 (IANS/EFE) At least 16 members of the Kurdish internal security forces were killed in an attack on Wednesday by Islamic State (IS) in the northern Syrian province of al-Hasakah, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported.
The London-based NGO said that the jihadis detonated a car bomb near the Kurdish base.
Following the explosion, clashes broke out between IS militants and Kurdish forces, who finally managed to take out the IS assailants, according to SOHR, but it was unable to specify the number of deaths from the IS ranks.
