Following a huge uproar over the omission of Ishant Sharma from the Ranji Trophy squad, the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) has decided to include the India pacer with immediate effect.
"Ishant Sharma has confirmed his availability from the second Ranji Trophy match but we are including him in the team right now," DDCA sports secretary Sunil Dev said in a statement on Thursday.
Ishant will miss Delhi's first match which will be against Rajasthan from October 1-4. But he will be available for Delhi's second game, which will be a home match against Vidarbha at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium from October 8-11.
Ishant was left out of the squad on Wednesday after DDCA's chief selector Vinay Lamba announced that the lanky pacer did not answer his phone call or reply to text messages sent to him.
