Leader of Pakistan's Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) party Altaf Hussain said Sunday it was time to wipe out the terrorists who are eating away the country's very vitality, and stressed terrorists and Pakistan could not go together.

Hussain said terrorism and Pakistan were not compatible, if Pakistan has to exist, terrorists must be wiped out, Geo News reported.

The statement came as several high-profile foreign terrorist commanders were killed in the bombingas by jet fighters in Pakistan's North Waziristan Agency (NWA).

While Pakistani military' media wing confirmed over 50 terrorists were killed in the air strikes, other media reports put the toll at 150.

Addressing a gathering through phone on the occasion of 36th foundation day of MQM-linked All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organisation, here, HUssain said his party was against all sorts of terrorism, violence and wanted peace.

The leader said terrorists from across the world are taking refuge in tribal areas and big cities were "eating away the very vitality of our country". He added if (God forbid) these terrorists occupy the country, men would be slain and women would be shut in their houses across the country.

Hussain appealed to all Pakistanis within the country and abroad to realise their duty to the nation at this critical juncture and join hands to save Pakistan.

He said the MQM was not opposed to any religion, faith or sect, but it was certainly against religious fanaticism and murder of the innocent people in the name of religion and declaring the victims as infidels.
