Late comic book writer and artist Jack Kirby, co-creator of "Captain America", "Fantastic Four", "Avengers", "Hulk", "Iron Man" and "Black Panther", will be named a Disney Legend at the D23 Expo 2017.
He will posthumously receive the honour on July 14 from Disney CEO Bob Iger.
D23 Expo, a Disney Fan Event, brings together all the worlds of Disney under one roof for three packed days of presentations, pavilions, experiences, concerts and sneak peeks. The event will take place on July 14-16 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Kirby will be one of two initial Marvel honorees for the Disney award - Stan Lee being the other, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
Other honourees recognised include names like Oprah Winfrey, Julie Taylor and Garry Marshall as well as Disney artists Manuel Gonzales and Clyde "Gerry" Geronimi.
