Indian Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar on Wednesday met the Afghan leadership, including President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah, here on the final day of his four-nation SAARC Yatra.
During his talks, India was welcomed as a partner of choice. The discussions focused on development projects, connectivity and security, external affairs ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin tweeted.
Jaishankar, who flew into Kabul from Islamabad, was received by senior Afghan officials and Indian High Commissioner Amar Sinha at the airport.
He also met Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani and Deputy Foreign Minister Hekmat Karzai.
Jaishankar began his trip on Sunday with Bhutan, and visited Bangladesh and Pakistan. Kabul was the final stop of his SAARC Yatra.
