Japan records $5.64 bn trade surplus in March

Japan achieved a trade surplus of $5.638 billion in March, its second consecutive month of surplus since the beginning of the year, the government reported on Thursday.

However, Japan's trade surplus in March was 17.5 per cent lower than that of the same month in 2016, and 24.4 per cent lower than in February, according to the Ministry of Finance data, Efe news reported.

Exports in March grew 12 per cent year-on-year while imports rose 15.8 per cent from the same month in 2016.
