Food grain states Punjab and Haryana have recorded arrival of over 100 lakh tonnes of wheat this season, officials in both states said.
In Punjab, the wheat arrival was nearly 51 lakh tonnes, out of which nearly 47 lakh tonnes was procured.
In Haryana, over 50.5 lakh tonnes of wheat has arrived so far.
Bulk of the wheat has been procured by government agencies in both states.
Payment of over Rs 3,744 crore has been made to farmers for the wheat procured in Punjab.
The Reserve Bank of India has sanctioned a Cash Credit Limit of Rs 17,994 crore for Punjab and nearly Rs 4,900 crore for Haryana for procurement of wheat this season.
Both states had procured over 175 lakh tonnes of wheat last year.
