Japan will relaunch the historic international football tournament Kirin Cup next year for its national team to warm up for the final Asian qualifiers of the 2018 World Cup, the Japan Football Association announced on Thursday.
The Kirin Cup, the oldest full international tournament in Japan, will be held for the first time in five years. The tournament will be played on June 3 and June 7, reports Xinhua.
The Cup, which was a three-team tournament, will now be changed to a four-team meet. The participating teams of next year's tournament will be announced later.
The Asian zone final qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup will begin on September, 2016.
