A Japanese national allegedly committed suicide by jumping off a hotel building in Multan city of Pakistan's Punjab province on Thursday, the police said.
The man, identified as Oka Makara, jumped to his death from the third floor of a hotel situated in Tariq Road area, Dawn newspaper quoted police officer Multan Ahsan Younas as saying.
According to the newspaper report, a suicide note allegedly penned by Makara was found from the spot which read "I am very sad".
The Japanese citizen was working on a project in Dera Ghazi Khan city. The body was sent for postmortem and an investigation into the case has been launched.
