Actress Jasmin Bhasin, who plays Twinkle in "Tashan-e-Ishq", got a chance to overcome her fear of rats while shooting with them for a TV show.

Jasmin suffers from 'musophobia', fear of rats, but for an upcoming sequence she had to shoot in jail after being charged with her sister's murder.

Yuvraj (another character played by Zain Imam) goes to meet her in custody and takes a box filled with rats as he is aware that it is Twinkle's biggest fear.

"Just like my onscreen character Twinkle, I'm extremely scared of rats. When I got to know about this sequence, I was under the impression that the rats would be added through visual effects (VFX), but after reading the script I found out that I will have to shoot with real rats," Jasmin said in a statement.

"I had a word with my director and tried to persuade him to avoid rats and add them on later through use of graphics. But he didn't approve as he wanted to capture my real reaction. So, I agreed to do it," she added.

Though Jasmin was "super scared after seeing rats on the floor", she took the challenge "sportingly".

"I did not act for this scene as the expression and reaction came out automatically out of the fear that I have for rats. But after the retakes required, I'm happy to say that I have overcome my phobia forever," she said.

"Tashan-e-Ishq", aired on Zee TV, also features Sidhant Gupta and Shritama Mukherjee.
