Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa Monday praised her Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi as an able administrator and expressed her happiness on his elevation in the BJP.
Queried about his appointment as BJP's national election committee chairman, Jayalalithaa told reporters: "What has happened is an internal matter of the BJP. I do not think it would be proper for me to comment on this development."
But she added: "At a personal level, Modi is a very good friend. I have high regard for him as an able administrator. My good wishes are always with him whether he wins election in Gujarat or achieves an elevation in his own party. I am happy for him."
