JeM militant killed in gunfight in Pulwama

A Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant was killed on Sunday in a brief exchange of fire with the security forces in south Kashmir's Pulwama district.

Police said the militant was killed in the Khrew area of Pulwama.

"Arms and ammunition have been recovered from the slain militant. Searches are going on," they said.

Six militants and an army soldier were killed earlier on Sunday in a gunfight in Batagund area of Shopian district.

A civilian was killed in clashes with the security forces in Batagund village. Intense clashes had broken out after the gunfight ended in the village.
