Jharkhand force draw, earn first Ranji points

Bhavik Thaker (63) and Ishanq Jaggi (56) battled hard and long to secure a draw for Jharkhand who thus picked up their first points in two matches.

Karnataka secured three points for their 60-run first innings lead in a Group A match of the Ranji Trophy league, here Sunday.

Jharkhand lost early wickets and were precariously placed at 20 for two, but Thaker and Saurabh Tiwary (41) put on 68 runs for the third wicket. Later, Jaggi kept the Karnataka bowlers at bay to ensure a draw.

While it was Karnataka's opening game this season, Jharkhand and Delhi had split points after their match was abandoned due to rains.
