Jharkhand school moves into Subroto Cup semis

BSL High School from Jharkhand moved into the semi-finals of the under-17 boys category of the 55th Subroto Cup International Football Tournament, beating Army Boys of Lucknow Cantonment on penalties at the NWC ground here Saturday.

The score was tied at 1-1 after the regulation period. The Jharkhand side emerged 5-3 winners in the penalty shootout.

MSP Higher Secondary School from Kerala was the other team to make it to the semis, beating Sports Authority of India (SAI), Assam, 1-0.

The winners will clash in a semi-final Oct 13.

At the Ambedkar Stadium, Brazilian side Colegio Estadul Santo Antonio drubbed Sainik School from Manipur 15-0 while Rogunan Sports School from Jakarta thumped Maharana Pratap Sports College, Uttarakhand, 6-0.
