Non-profit organisation JKP Education has been honoured by the All India Dalit Muslim Morcha for extending free and secular education to students of all religions.

A delegation of All India Dalit Muslim Morcha, including president Salahuddin Sheebu, honoured JKP Education members Vishakha Tripathi, Krishna Tripathi and Shyama Tripathi for their effort in providing education to the deprived sections and minorities.

At an education fair Thursday at the JKP campus here in Pratapgarh district, it was noted that as many as 65 percent of girls studying in the institutions of JKP Education belong to the minority community. Maulana Fazalurrehman Vaizi and Bishop Austin Anthony were among the guests.

"JKP's efforts are laudable as they provide secular education irrespective of the religion of the student. JKP has proved it is doing great service to humanity without bothering about religion, caste and creed," Sheebu said.

Earlier, the students of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education showcased their talent at the sprawling campus of the Jagadguru Kripalu Mahila Mahavidyalaya. The fair was inaugurated by project coordinator and head of the Lucknow-based Regional Science City, Umesh Rustogi.

The exhibits included models on a wide range of subjects -- from science to social issues.

Rustogi said: "It is amazing to see such outstanding talent. One would normally expect only students in big schools in metros and capitals to perform in this manner. But it is really heartwarming to see the students of JKP Education excel in all fields."

Vishakha Tripathi, who is president of the Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat, lauded the efforts of the teachers and the management.

The institution was recently awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Global Excellence Award, Mother Teresa Award and the Nelson Mandela Award for exemplary work in girl child education. It extends free education to over 5,000 girls from pre-primary to post-graduate levels.
