The first edition of Johnnie Walker - The Journey turned out to be an enthralling event for many.

It left many inspired when artistes from the world of music, cinema and theatre presented enriching performances and stories in front of the audience here Saturday.

From live music performances by The Alan Parsons Live Project, consisting of members Eric Woolfson and Alan Parsons to performing arts by Ouroboros - The Handspring Puppet Company to a cinematic experience with Shane Carruth and the liberal Qaushiq Mukherjee, the Indian film director known for his controversial cult film "Gandu" -- the festival offered something for everyone.

The audience comprised people from international and Indian cities like Los Angeles, Washington, Tokyo, Paris, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

The audience for the one-day festival included popular names like filmmaker Kiran Rao, politician Priya Dutt, singer Alka Yagnik, multi-disciplinary artist Mukul Deora and celebrity hairstylist Sapna Bhavnani.

Held at Mehboob Studio, the event also provided a perfect platform to the audience for interacting with experts, share progressive ideas and connect with like-minded people through performances, workshops and demonstrations.

Informative sessions like the one conducted by veteran film and theatre producer John N. Hart engaged the audience with a wealth of cultural knowledge and inspiring content.

"We are delighted the first edition of Johnnie Walker - The Journey has taken off with much enthusiasm. It has set a new benchmark in the industry and hope it leads a progressive movement among the Indian audiences, encouraging them to be part of intriguing stories of personal progress," said Bhavesh Somaya, marketing director, Diageo India.

"We have built this platform from the ideology that people inspire people and we are confident the festival resonated that," added Somaya.

Diageo, the parent company of Johnnie Walker, the festival organiser is the world's leading premium drinks brand with an outstanding collection of beverage alcohol brands across spirits, beer and wine.
