An overwhelming audio-visual extravaganza awaits music lovers in the city as the third edition of Johnnie Walker The Journey is set to showcase some of the finest international talent for Indian fans.
The concert, which will be held at the Mehboob Studio here on December 12, will feature famed artists like Giorgio Moroder, Tycho, Explosions in the Sky, and LEO.
"The third edition of Johnnie Walker The Journey is set to deliver yet another inspiration-packed, unmatched experience to the audience this year," Bhavesh Somaya, head of luxury, United Spirits, a Diageo Spirits company, said in a statement.
"We have once again curated a list of extremely talented and internationally acclaimed artistes debuting in India who embody our philosophy of inspiring personal progress," Somaya added.
Giorgio Moroder is an Italian producer, songwriter, performer and DJ. At 75, Moroder has his hands in the center of EDM culture and was awarded the 2015 GQ Men of the Year 'Inspiration' Award.
Moroder has worked with several of the biggest names in music, including Barbra Streisand, Elton John, Cher, Roger Daltrey, Janet Jackson, Freddy Mercury, David Bowie etc.
Tycho is the music project of San Francisco-based artist and producer Scott Hansen. He is known globally for his ambient music -- swirling melodies that crisscross between stuttering beats and vocal samples, creating rolling sonic landscapes that extend into the horizon. He is also known as "ISO50" in the design world.
Explosions in the Sky is a renowned post-rock band from Texas. Over the course of 16 years, the band has released six albums, and have given music for TV shows like "One Tree Hill", "CSI: Crime Scene", "Shopgirl" and movies like "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" and "The Kite Runner".
Directed by Montreal-based actor-director Daniel Briere, and based on an original idea of multi-talented performer Tobias Wegner, LEO is a gravity defying, mind-bending, funny, surreal theatre act that challenges the senses and tests perceptions of reality through the clever interplay of live performance and video projection.
LEO has won several major awards including the Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award, the Three Weeks Editors Award and recently, won the John Chataway Award for Innovation at the 2013 Adelaide Fringe Festival.
