Italian football champions Juventus have announced that midfielder Roberto Pereyra will be sidelined for 40 days due to an injury in his right leg.
The club on Monday declared that the Argentine underwent a series of medical tests that revealed a second degree injury in the muscle in his right thigh, which requires a healing time of about 40 days, reports Efe.
The player suffered the injury during Sunday's Serie A match at home against Atalanta, which ended in a 2-0 victory for the Turin side in week nine of the competition.
Juventus will also miss Ghanaian midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah for the next 20 days as he sustained a first degree injury in the femoral biceps of his left leg during the same game.
