Actress Kangana Ranaut on Saturday attended the store launch of the European-high street fashion brand VERO MODA here and unveiled her second of three collections titled Venice Cruise.
The store, located on the international Boulevard on the ground floor of the DLF Mall Of India, is spread across 4,000 sq. ft. and features mannequins, store fixtures and bright lights.
"This being the largest store in the country is another feather in our cap aimed at the fashion concious women of Noida," said Vineet Gautam, country head, BESTSELLER India.
She was welcomed to the venue by loud cheers and whistles from the crowd as she walked in a light pink skirt and peplum top from the store brand, teamed with embellished stilettos.
The "Queen" star's new collection is inspired by the uniquely beautiful city of Venice. The range sees scenic prints of the city, captured and blended with pastel hues.
Talking about the collection, Kangana told IANS: "It is inspired by the city of Venice, which is beautiful in its own unique way. I think it is very cool to draw inspiration not just from people, era, or music, but to draw inspirations from destinations like Venice as well."
The silhouettes from the collection are sensual with a lot of drama, juxtapositioned with colours that bring forth the freshness of the summer.
"We have used beautiful surreal visuals as digital prints on garments and given them a lot more romantic tone," the actress added.
The "Tanu Weds Manu" star shared that she would love to continue her association with the brand.
"I would love to (associate with the brand). Honestly, it's their prerogative... what they want to do. Last year, they had filmmaker Karan Johar. This year, they have me. I love the fact that I got this platform to display my set of skills, when it comes to designing," said the actress, who is undergoing a legal battle with actor Hrithik Roshan.
When some of the reporters questioned her about the case, the National Award-winning actress refused to comment.
Issues between the two actors surfaced when Kangana hinted at Hrithik being her 'ex', saying in an interview that she fails to understand "why exes do silly things to get your attention".
