'Kar gayi chull' crosses 200 mn views on YouTube

Party anthem "Kar gayi chull" from Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra-starrer "Kapoor & Sons" crossed 200 million views on YouTube on Wednesday.

The song was composed by Badshah and recreated by composer Amaal Mallik. The recreated version released in February last year.

"It feels really good when your song reaches out to so many people, and it's not just about 200 or 300 million views. It's all about how people react to your work, dance to your songs or cry because of them," Mallik said in a statement.

The victory of a composer, he feels, is when his song can either make people get up and dance like crazy or make them teary-eyed and introspect.

"'Kar gayi chull' was my Dharma Productions debut and it will always be special. It was always my dad's dream to work with the Dharma banner and I was stoked when this opportunity came by. It was my childhood dream too," said the young composer.

Badshah was "really sweet and gave me such a free hand in producing and composing this number".

"He told me 'Let's go with your vision. I'm here whenever you need me'. That was amazing," said Mallik.
