Kerala Tourism has decided to honour the two Indian medallists at the Rio Olympics by inviting them to relax and rejuvenate themselves in the state.
P.V. Sindhu became the country's first woman silver medalist in badminton, while Sakshi Malik bagged a bronze medal in wrestling.
The duo will also be honoured at the upcoming ninth edition of the Kerala Travel Mart (KTM), which will be inaugurated here on September 27.
KTM is the largest gathering of tourism stakeholders in the state, KTM 2016, which is being organised by the KTM Society in association with the Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala, is scheduled to run from September 28-30.
"This invitation to see the very best of what Kerala has to offer with carefully tailored tour itineraries across the state is our way of thanking the country's newest sporting heroes for doing us proud. We will ensure their stay here will be as memorable as their performances," said KTM Society president Abraham George.
"Kerala will be the ideal destination for them to recoup their strength. Our much sought after ayurvedic massages, in particular, will aid in their rejuvenation," George added.
The presence of Olympian medallists at the KTM will add lustre to the growing appeal of the biennial tourism industry conclave, which expects to see some 560 international delegates and over 1,300 domestic buyers in attendance.
An array of products, services and packages from around 261 sellers including hotels, resorts, houseboats, ayurveda resorts, home stays and tour operators, will be showcasesdat the event.
