After opening almost 2 per cent lower on Monday morning, the key Indian equity indices started showing marginal corrections in fall.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), was trading 411.50 points or 1.43 per cent down after half an hour of opening of the trading.
The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 131.10 points or 1.48 per cent lower at 8,735.60 points.
The Sensex of the BSE, which opened at 28,481.09 points, was trading at 28,385.75 points (at 9.43 a.m.), lower 411.50 points or 1.43 per cent from the previous day's close at 28,797.25 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 28,481.11 points and a low of 28,251.31 points in the trade so far.
Heavy selling pressure was seen in realty, banking, auto and finance sectors.
