Khel Now - social platform for sports communities launched

Khel Now, the world's first extensible and crowd-managed platform aimed at bringing sports-related content and social networking together, was launched here on Wednesday.

Using the Khel Now app, people can follow and support their favourite sports, competitions, teams, players, communities, coaches, academies, etc. through online and offline activities.

The uniqueness of Khel Now is that it is the only platform that ties together crowd-sourced and curated content, information, networking, reviews/ratings and more, all of which is relevant, timely and location-specific to users.

Starting with India and football, it hopes to connect millions of passionate followers of the sport and will soon venture into other sports such as tennis and basketball.

"Having been involved in various sporting ventures around the world, we noticed an opportunity that Khel Now addresses - one that allows for greater participation and involvement of sports fans in a more structured and social mobile environment," co-founder Dhruv Ratra said.
