Investigators are yet to arrest anyone two days after a man was fatally attacked for protesting molestation of his daughter by some youths in West Bengal, an official said Sunday.
The incident happened Friday night in Joynagar in the South 24-Parganas district when three men, who earlier had passed lewd comments at the girl, barged into her house and severely beat up her father. The man later died of his injuries.
"We have received a complaint against three youths who are said to have attacked a man. We are yet to arrest any of them," Superintendent of Police Pravin Tripathi said.
According to the girl's complaint, her father had complained to the parents of one of the youths who have been molesting her and passing lewd comments on a regular basis.
Angered by the complaint, the youths later assaulted the girl's father and even threatened the girl not to file a police compliant.
