The Metro Railway, Kolkata has decided to increase services on Saturdays and Sundays by plying 34 pairs of additional trains from this weekend, it was announced on Tuesday.
A Metro Railway release said 224 trains will ply on Saturdays instead of the present 206 trains and 110 trains on Sundays as against 94 that run now.
Metro commuters will get the benefit of the increased services from the coming Saturday.
The reelase said the minimum and maximum frequency of services on Saturdays will be 7 minutes and 15 minutes respectively, and on Sundays, it will be 10 minutes and 20 minutes respectively.
