National Democratic Alliance (NDA)'s presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind arrived in Goa on Saturday to solicit the support of the state's ruling legislators ahead of the presidential election.
Kovind, who arrived with Union minister for Roads, Highways, Transport and Shipping Nitin Gadkari, was received at Goa's Dabolim International Airport by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and state BJP President Vinay Tendulkar.
He met MLAs from the Bharatiya Janata Party as well as those of other parties in the ruling coalition at a resort in South Goa.
"We had a brief interaction with him," Parrikar told reporters here.
Polling for the President's election will commence at 10 a.m on July 17 at the state Secretariat.
