Atletico de Kolkata (ATK) striker Iain Hume on Wednesday said the lack of ethics towards the end ruined his side's 2-1 victory over Chennaiyin FC in the second leg of the Indian Super League (ISL) semifinal here on Wednesday.

Even though the hosts won the game, they crashed out of the tournament on aggregate (4-2) as Chennaiyin had won the first leg 3-0 in Pune.

Towards the end of the game on Wednesday, ATK coach Antonio Habas got into an altercation with the referee along with a few players and was sent off. Chennaiyin players too got involved and protested.

"I think lack of ethics ruined the game towards the end tonight," Hume told reporters here.

The Canadian forward also praised the efforts of rival custodian Edel Bete who kept Chennaiyin in the game with some brilliant saves.

"They had the best goalkeeper in the league (Bete). He is an unbelievable shot stopper. He did it for ATK last year in the final and he did it for Chennaiyin this time," he said.

South African midfielder Sameegh Doutie reportedly had heated exchange with a few support staff in the team tunnel.

Asked about the incident, Atletico assistant coach Bastab Roy played it down, saying: "It was nothing; he was upset for being knocked out, that is all."

Hume said he doesn't have a clue if he is going to come back but added that he was enjoying the league.

"I've no idea (if I will come back). But statistically, I have had a good season. I am enjoying it here. If they (ATK) want me back, I have to see," he said.

Hume picked his two hat-tricks as one of the best moments this season.
