Director Dharam Verma, who directed popular show "Lapataganj", is happy that the show is coming back with its second season. He says the new season promises a lot.

"Lapataganj" is the story of the people residing in an imaginary town of the same name. They lead a happy life against all odds. The show was famous among audiences for bringing to them several colourful flavours of rural India.

The show's new season begins on SAB TV June 10.

"I am very happy that it ('Lapataganj') is coming back and again the audience will get to see the deeply rooted stories of our country," Verma said here in an interaction.

Verma, who has also directed the shows like "Daddy Samjha Karo" and "Hum Aapke Hai In-Laws" for SAB TV, accepts "there are certain changes in the cast" of the show.

Preeti Amin, who played mute character Surili in the show, will not be a part of it, though the character will be there. Besides, Sucheta Khanna, who was seen in films like "Anjaana Anjaani" and "Yamla Pagla Deewana", will continue her role as Indumati Lal Gupta, and veteran actor Rohitashv Gaur will reprise the role of Mukundi Lal Gupta (Indumati's husband) in season two of the show.

Asked if there is any change in the story and plot of the show, Verma said: "One must change with the changing times. Lot of changes have come in the country and so in 'Lapataganj'."
