Enrolled in a Japanese learning course and yet to understand the nitty-gritty involved with the language? Learn it from a bird, instead!

A common hill myna in Japan not only chats in impeccable Japanese with people over phone, she can also give you some lessons.

Owned by Satoko Ohno, the bird called Abe Chan has a surprisingly competent grasp of words and phases in Japanese, media reports said.

Sporting jet black feathers in contrast to the orange beak and yellow spots on the head, she answers phone and converses freely in Japanese.

She can mimic a wide variety of noises, including human voice with accuracy.

A video of the this southeast Asian bird speaking in Japanese is also available on youtube.
