Expressing support for the land movement in West Bengal's Bhangar, Left Front Chairman Biman Bose announced that leaders from all 17 Left parties would attend the sit in demonstration organised by the agitators in the area on Tuesday.
"The Bastu, Jami and Paribesh Rakkha (Residence, Land and Environment Protection) committee that is organising the land movements against the land sharks in Bhangar, has invited us to attend their demonstration programme on April 11. We have supported their movement in the past and we are supporting it now. Representatives from 17 left parties would be present at the event tomorrow in solidarity with the land movement," he said at a press conference here on Monday.
Bose also said that the Left Front partners would organise a massive rally in the city and submit a deputation to Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi after holding discussions with the committee.
"The date of the rally Awould be fixed after discussions with the committee," he said.
The veteran Left leader said the LF constituents would take up joint as well as individual political programmes against the "atrocities" of the state government and adversity faced by the poor and working class in the state.
He also declared LF's "complete support" to the agitations organised by the left leaning peasant organisations of the state including the 'March to Nabanna' to be organised on May 22.
"The Left Front declares its complete support to the left leaning peasant wings 'March to Nabanna (state secretariat)' agitation on May 22 demanding an improvement in the condition of peasants of the state," Bose added.
