Leicester City on Wednesday arrived in Thailand for six days of celebrations following their English Premier League (EPL) title win this football season.

The English club, one of the most popular teams in Thailand, landed in Bangkok Wednesday morning to "continue the festivities and thank the people of Thailand for their support", according to a statement by the club, reports Efe.

Leicester has gained multitudes of Thai fans since the summer of 2010 when Thai business tycoon Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha acquired the club from Croatian businessman Milan Mandaric for 50 million euros ($56.5 million).

The head coach of the 'Foxes', Italian Claudio Ranieri and captain, Jamaican defender Wes Morgan led the expedition to the Thai capital.

"We feel very supported with parties in many parts of Bangkok in honour of our recent matches in the Premier League," the club said in a statement published Tuesday on its website.

"We want to thank the people of Thailand for bringing Leicester City into their hearts through the events at the end of our season tour," the statement added.

Most members of the Leicester team joined the expedition to Thailand, with the exception of Riyad Mahrez, Nathan Dyer and Daniel Amartey.

Midfielder Danny Drinkwater and star striker Jamie Vardy are joining the group later Wednesday, while French midfielder N'Golo Kante will do the same.
