The annual Comic Con India 2015 awards will be honouring national award winning author Aabid Surti with the lifetime achievement award, organisers announced on Tuesday.
Aabid Surti is also an artist, cartoonist and a playwright.
The 79-year-old author has written numerous short stories, novels, plays, children's books and travelogues. In 1993, he won a national award for his short story collection "Teesri Aankh".
The awards in their fourth year aim to recognise the work of all the professionals of India's comic industry.
In the past, cartoonists R. K. Laxman, Mario Miranda and Pran Kumar Sharma have received this award.
The award will be given at a ceremony on April 4 in Bangalore.
