Rocky S, who is set to showcase his collection at French European Indian Fashion Week (FEIFW) that will take place at Eiffel Tower in Paris, says that the city has always inspired him in many ways as a designer.

"Paris is the fashion capital of the world. Since every nook and corner in the city is spectacularly presented in terms of art which in turn resonates in design themes, forming beautiful fashion," the designer told IANS in an email interview.

"A walk down the streets of Paris is inspirational enough as it invariably awakens all the senses. The little things in the city inspire me, like sitting in the French bistros, indulging in the beautifully presented plate of food and sipping a cup of coffee while watching the sunset," he added.

FEIFW, an initiative of World News Network, will see 15 Indian designers showcasing their collection at the iconic tower.

Rocky is excited to showcase his Shringara range that will celebrate love manifested in decorative prints featuring handcrafted textures and opulent embroideries.

"Staying true to Rocky Star label's aesthetics, traditional embroideries will be brought to life in contemporary fashion. Inspired by the modern women of today - strong, independent yet feminine, the collection reinvents vintage crafts in high fashion styles," said the designer.

There will be voluminous dramatic silhouettes and flattering cuts joint together on fabrics that vary from georgettes to chiffons.

Talking about his experience of visiting Paris before, Rocky says that the city always propels him to come back again and again.

"It carries an age-old legacy of fashion since it houses some of the most reputed brands in the world that have set the ground in fashion. Undoubtedly, my visit to the Eiffel Tower has been a memorable one. The magnificent structure centres Paris and has always been one of my favourite spots in the city."

"I am truly ecstatic to be showcasing my work at the Eiffel Tower for the FEIFW," he said.

Any plans to showcase at Paris Fashion Week anytime soon?

"I am in a process of expanding my horizons to explore different countries as a market. Showcasing at fashion weeks is a way to understand the market and the design philosophy of the country which in turn broadens my vision for Rocky Star label. So, if an opportunity presents itself, I will definitely like to showcase at Paris fashion week," he said.

The designer has roped in actress Amy Jackson to walk as his showstopper at the event.

"Amy Jackson represents the modern women of today. She is strong yet feminine and exhilarates confidence. My collection represents women who imbibe themselves with these ideologies, thus being a perfect fit for the brand," said Rocky S.
