The Lok Sabha on Thursday condoled the passing away of former Speaker Rabi Ray.
Soon after the house met after a month-long recess, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan made the obituary references to the death of Ray along with other members Jambuwant Dhote, P. Shiv Shankar and Syed Shahabuddin.
A two-minute silence was observed before the Question Hour.
Ray, 91, died at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on March 6. He was admitted there following age-related ailments.
Shiv Shankar, 89, a former union minister, died in February after a prolonged illness.
Shahabuddin, a former Indian Foreign Service officer, passed away on March 4. Dhote died in February.
