Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has told Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko that India deeply values its relations with the east European country, a statement from her office said Tuesday.
"India deeply values the cordial and friendly relations between the two countries," said the speaker, who is leading a parliamentary delegation to Belarus.
Meira Kumar also met Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich and House of Representatives chairman Vladimir Andreichenko separately to discuss issues of mutual interest.
An agreement on cooperation between the Lok Sabha and the House of Representatives to faciliate exchange of visits by parliamentarians and officials was also signed.
