London-based law firm Zaiwalla & Co Solicitors has come forward to support Telangana Jagruthi United Kingdom in adopting 20 farmers' families in Telangana.
Telangana Jagruthi UK is a non-profit organisation of the Telangana community in Britain. It is the UK branch of Telangana Jagruthi, a cultural group headed by K. Kavitha, a parliamentarian and daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
Zaiwalla & Co's Managing Partner Pavani Reddy has joined the board of Telangana Jagruthi UK, which is hosting a dinner in the House of Commons on Saturday in aid of distressed farmers in Telangana.
The event will also mark Bathukamma, Telangana's festival of flowers and Dasara.
Chief guests at the event will include former Indian-origin cricketer and Zaiwalla & Co Solicitor's brand ambassador Farokh Engineer and Lord Navnit Dholakia.
Top dignitaries, public figures, industry stalwarts, South Indian celebrities and community leaders will attend the event.
Many farmers have committed suicide in Telangana in recent months due to a crisis in agriculture aggravated by drought.
Kavitha announced last month that Telangana Jagruthi will adopt 80 families of farmers who committed suicide.
