The Lok Sabha on Wednesday was adjourned till noon following ruckus created by Samajwadi Party (SP) and Trinamool Congress over various issues.
Soon after the House assembled, SP member Dharmendra Yadav stood on his seat and raised the issue about his party leaders and workers lathi-charged on Tuesday by the police in Prayagraj during protests triggered by the Uttar Pradesh government's denial of permission to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav to travel to the city.
There was a white bandage on Dharmendra Yadav's forehead with visible blood and medicine marks on it.
The MP said his MLAs are being beaten up and that he as well as his colleagues were attacked.
As Speaker Smitra Mahajan did not allow him to speak saying he would be given time later, the Dharmendra Yadav protested.
He trooped near the Speaker's podium. He was joined by SP member and Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav, who joined the protest near the podium after taking blessings from her father-in-law Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Trinamool Congress party members also followed raising various issues against the Centre sloganeering "Modi kills democracy".
Mahajan tried to conduct the Question Hour but she was forced to adjourn the House till 12 p.m. over the pandemonium.
Earlier as the House met, the Speaker condoled the death of former Lok Sabha MP Kunjilal who died on January 7.
