Lt General A.K. Bhatt on Thursday took over as the 47th Corps Commander of Srinagar-based 15 Corps.
Lt. Gen J.S. Sandhu handed over the charge of 15 Corps, also called as the Chinar Corps, to Lt. Gen Bhatt, a Defency Ministry statement said.
The statement said Lt Gen Sandhu's tenure will be defined by the successful execution of "Operation All Out" launched by the security forces in which a large number of militants were eliminated in the Kashmir Valley.
Lt. Gen Bhatt was earlier the Director General Military Operations in Army Headquarters.
