A local court on Wednesday acquitted former state legislator Sunilam and 15 others in a case of attack on policemen dating back more than 10 years.
Sunilam and others were accused of manhandling policemen and preventing government officials from performing their duties on January 3, 2006.
They had gone to submit a memorandum on farmers' issues to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan during his visit to the distict.
The hearing in the case was conducted in the court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Nidhi Srivastava.
