In a major reshuffle in the Utter Pardesh Police department, the government on Wednesday transferred eight Indian Police Service (IPS) and 22 Provincial Police Service (PPS) officials, a home department spokesman said.
IPS officials who were transferred included three superintendents and two deputy inspector generals of police (DIG). R.K.S. Rathore, who was DIG of the Provincial Armed Constabulary at Lucknow, has now been posted as DIG Lucknow, while Devendra Kumar Chowdhary who was attached to the Director General of Police office has been posted as DIG (PAC headquarters) Lucknow.
Aneesh Ahmad has been replaced by Umesh Kumar Singh as district police chief of Hardoi. Alankrita Singh has been shifted out of the 47th Batallion of the PAC in Ghaziabad and given charge as Superintendent of Police Hapur. Twentytwo PPS officials, mostly deputy SPs, have been also transferred.
