Products made specifically to meet the requirements of Indian consumers as well as to suit the country's climatic conditions will continue to be key focus for Samsung in southwest Asia, the company's president and CEO H.C. Hong said here on Thursday.
He launched a host of new products at the Samsung Forum 2016, including 4G-enabled Smartphones -- Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A5, SUHD television sets with "quantum dot" display, smart home appliances including 5-in-1 convertible refrigerator, washing machines and microwave ovens, energy efficient and more durable air-conditioners.
"Samsung is committed to providing progressive and meaningful innovation that makes everyday living better for our discerning consumers," said Hong.
"While 'Make for India' will continue to be a strong focus area for Samsung Southwest Asia, we will be introducing path breaking innovations across our various categories of products through the year," he said. "Our goal is to augment consumer experience while also fortifying our leadership position in the Indian market."
Over the last one year, Samsung has introduced some iconic products in India and south and southeast Asian markets such as its flagship Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge plus and Galaxy Note5 in the smartphone segment and the SUHD TVs in consumer electronics.
"This year, all of Samsung's SUHD TVs will feature the ability to provide a premium high dynamic range (HDR) experience, with 1,000 nit brightness for a higher level of contrast between light and dark images," said Rajeev Bhutani, vice president, consumer electronics, Samsung India.
"The new ultra black technology also significantly reduces light reflection, further enhancing picture quality with minimal glare. Inspired by nature, Ultra Black absorbs natural light the same way that a moth's eye enables it to see better at night," he aid.
Samsung has now introduced the first ever bezel-less curved design in the KS9000 SUHD television set. With no bezel that normally functions as the border, the viewer's attention will now be completely focused on the screen content.
"The 2016 range of smart TVs has been built on the Tizen operating system allowing consumers to access their favorite content and services, from movies to games to apps, all in one place," Bhutani said.
"The Samsung smart TV will automatically recognize the type of home theatre system or game console connected to the TV. This allows users to control all of the external devices with the smart control remote eliminating the need to juggle multiple remote controls," Bhutani said.
The new smart convertible 5-in-1 refrigerator offers five different modes: normal, extra shopping, vacation, seasonal and home alone. The five conversion modes deliver the required flexibility while saving energy depending on the consumer needs.
