Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai on Friday said he hoped that experts could provide more information on the debris of the Malaysian Airlines flight MH370.

Liow's statement came in response to the confirmation from the French side that the flaperon discovered in Reunion Island was a part of the MH370 aircraft, Xinhua news agency reported.

Liow said he hoped the experts could furnish details such as precise location of its discovery.

"Such information will assist the search strategy working group, which is conducting the search, to move forward," he said.

Liow said it has been a trying time for the family members and loved ones of the MH370 victims, and he assured that the Malaysian government together with China and Australia would continue with the search effort.

On August 6 -- 515 days after the Kuala Lumpur-Beijing flight disappeared -- Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak confirmed that the flaperon belonged to the Boeing 777, while authorities in France cited "very strong presumption" that it was the case.

The flight, a Boeing 777-200, disappeared on March 8, 2014 with a total of 239 people on board.
