A man has been arrested on suspicion of cutting off the testicles of three in-patients at a nursing home in northeast China's Heilongjiang province.
The latest case of nursing home abuse in China happened in Qinggang County Tuesday afternoon, when a man tied up the three in-patients and removed their private parts with a dull razor, doctors and victims told Xinhua.
Two victims, 53 and 80, lost one testicle each, and another 60-year-old lost both. Two of them were bedridden in the institution while the third is mentally handicapped.
The victims identified the perpetrator as a worker at the nursing home while a staff member at the home said the man, in his 30s, was also housed there for his mental illness.
Police have not revealed the suspect's identity or his motive.
Many Chinese nursing homes are troubled by insufficient beds, funding and poor management.
