A man was arrested here for raping his 12-year-old step-daughter, police said Tuesday.
The girl was alone at her house in west Delhi's Punjabi Bagh area Sunday afternoon when the crime took place.
"At the time of the incident, the victim's mother had gone to the market. When she returned, the victim narrated the incident. The girl's mother then approached the police and complained against her husband," said a police officer.
The accused was arrested late Sunday night after the victim's medical report confirmed rape, added the officer.
In another incident, a 60-year-old man, identified as Ombir, was arrested for molesting an eight-year-old girl inside his home in west Delhi's Kirti Nagar area Sunday afternoon.
The accused was caught red-handed by the residents who beat him up before handing him over to police.
