A man was arrested on Thursday in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh for running over a police constable with a dumper, police said.
Constable Dharmendra Singh Chauhan, posted at the Noorabad police station, had tried to stop a dumper allegedly involved in illegal transportation of sand, when he was run over by its driver Tehsildar Singh Gujjar.
Gujjar was arrested on charges of culpable homicide, Morena district's Additional Superintendent of Police Raghuvansh Singh told IANS.
The owner of the dumper, Bunty alias Ram Lakhan, was arrested earlier.
A police Special Task Force (STF) has been asked to investigate the incident, following instructions from Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
