A man fell from his house's balcony and died while trying to rescue his three-year-old daughter, who locked herself in a room while playing, police said on Friday.
According to police, Mishra, a doctor who had his own clinic, had a three-story house. On Thursday night, his daughter locked herself in a room on the top floor while playing but could not open it.
To rescue her, the father fashioned a makeshift rope to try the balcony of the room but it broke and he plunged down to the ground.
He was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
