A 25-year-old man was arrested for attempting to rape his neighbour's 4-year-old daughter, police said Saturday.
The accused has been identified as Virender, who hails from Bihar and was living here on rent in Prempuri colony of Jharsa village near sector-32.
The victim's family too belongs to Bihar.
A case was registered at the Sadar police station.
"The accused worked as a pantry boy, he lured the minor Friday noon when she was playing outside his house and took her into his room. He was caught by the victim's mother," police officer Rani Devi told IANS.
"He was produced before the court of the duty magistrate Saturday and was sent to jail for 14 days under judicial custody," she added.
