A man has been arrested on charge of cutting off both ears of his three-year-old daughter on Thursday, police said.
Accused, Amrit, 35, of Shahadara told police he committed the crime as a spirit told him to do so if he wanted to save his daughter Bina's life.
While his family tried to stop him from committing the crime in an inebriated state, he beat them up. The family's neighbours informed police.
"The girl is stable at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, where she is will undergo surgery," Deputy Commissioner of Police Nupur Sharma said.
