A 60-year-old man, brother of a killed Khalistan Liberation Front terrorist, has been arrested here for carrying six kg opium valued at Rs. 9 lakh ($14,200) in the international market, police said on Tuesday.
Jaswant Singh, a resident of west Delhi's Sultan Puri, was arrested from east Delhi's Anand Vihar Inter State Bus Turminus (ISBT) on reaching there from Bareilly along with the drug consignment.
Police said Singh used to procure narcotics from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh and distributed them in Delhi.
"Jaswant keeps long beard and poses as Sewadar to evade detection and was never arrested earlier," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravindra Yadav said.
Yadav said that Singh was in this illicit trade for the last six years.
Police said Singh's brother Avtar Singh was a Khalistan Liberation Front terrorist and was killed in a police encounter in Ganganagar in Rajasthan in 1986.
